BRIAN ENO
Suffolk, England
Brian Eno is a pivotal figure in modern music, celebrated for his innovation and influence across genres. His career began in 1971 as a synthesizer player in Roxy Music, contributing to two albums before pursuing a solo path in 1973. Eno quickly distinguished himself with his first few albums like Here Come the Warm Jets and Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy), which combined experimental rock with avant-garde techniques.
In 1978, he coined the term “ambient music” with Ambient 1: Music for Airports, a genre defined by its focus on atmosphere and the creation of immersive soundscapes. Over the years, Eno has worked as a producer for major artists like David Bowie, with whom he collaborated on the groundbreaking “Berlin Trilogy,” and U2, co-producing The Joshua Tree.
His contributions extend beyond music. Eno has experimented with generative music—creating pieces that evolve through algorithms—and sound installations, with notable projects like lighting up the Sydney Opera House. He’s also an activist, advocating for climate change awareness, humanitarian causes, and political freedom.
